About

Craft, clarity, and shipping things that hold up.

I'm Josh, a Digital Project Manager and UX Designer who's spent the last decade pinballing between Shanghai, Manchester, Warwick, and Tel Aviv, picking up languages and disciplines along the way. I work where premium and emerging tech meet: AR health dashboards for next-generation glasses one week, configurator UX for a luxury sedan the next.

Most days, my job is translating ambition into something a team can actually ship. That means owning the journey from stakeholder brief through user research, wireframes, hi-fi mockups, prototype, and into production, alongside engineers, CGI artists, and analysts. I'm hands-on in Figma, but equally happy running a Jira board, presenting to a CDO or CEO, or kicking off a usability study. The line between IC work and project management got blurry years ago, and I've stopped pretending it's still there.

My degree is in Digital Media and Extended Reality (First Class Honours, University of Salford), with a semester abroad at Zhejiang University in Shanghai. I then trained as an assistant director at the UK's National Youth Film Academy and picked up Lifetime Membership for creative leadership. The XR degree shapes how I think about spatial computing; the Mandarin still earns its keep when working with teams in Shenzhen; the film training shapes how I think about story arcs in product flows.

I care about three things, in this order: clarity, craft, shipping.

Clarity comes first because most design problems are framing problems. Get the question right and the answer is usually obvious. Craft separates 'fine' from 'good', and 'good' from work that makes you stop. Shipping is what turns the rest into something more than a portfolio piece.

Currently

Currently in Tel Aviv, designing the Health module for EvenRealities' AR operating system, with brand and identity work for APEX Series. Open to senior UX, design lead, and product roles. Tel Aviv, remote, or willing to relocate.

Labs

Also building, on the side.

Three things I'm shipping outside of client work, all AI-powered, all in active development.

Approach

Four phases. Repeated until the work earns its place.

01

Diagnose

Read the system as it is. Surface the assumptions everyone has stopped noticing. The first week is mostly listening, to users, stakeholders, the design team, the engineers. The brief is usually wrong; the room knows where.

02

Frame

Most design problems are framing problems. Define the right question and the answer becomes obvious. This is where briefs get rewritten and projects get smaller, and the work that survives is the work that matters.

03

Ship

Prototype in high fidelity from the first week. Test in production where it is safe. Move fast and obvious before slow and clever; the second one only looks good in a pitch deck.

04

Operate

Set up the team, the tooling, and the standards so the work keeps shipping after I leave. Consulting that does not outlast me has not done its job. The handover is part of the work.

The toolkit, kept current.
